O meu nome é Herman da Cunha e sou fotógrafo português natural do Porto, residindo em Lisboa. Formei-me no Instituto Português de Fotografia, depois de me licenciar em Teatro e Artes Performativas e me pós-graduadar em Filosofia Teórica.
Na minha formação, tive a sorte de me dedicar ao pensamento sobre a natureza humana ajudado por Eurípedes, Platão e, Henri Cartier-Bresson. Portanto, com a «Medéia», a «Alegoria da Caverna» e a proporção áurea.
O meu trabalho concentra-se em empurrar a fotografia para o campo da ontologia, sem nunca descurar a técnica.
Neste caminho, vou passando pelo retrato, concertos, fotografia documental, trabalhando amiúde com produtoras musicais e artísticas, órgãos de comunicação social, agências e organizações sem fins lucrativos.

My name is Herman da Cunha. I am a Portuguese photographer, born in Porto and based in Lisbon. I trained at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, after graduating in Theatre and Performing Arts and completing a postgraduate degree in Theoretical Philosophy.
Throughout my education, I had the privilege of devoting myself to the study of human nature, guided by Euripides, Plato, and Henri Cartier-Bresson. Thus, through Medea, the Allegory of the Cave, and the golden ratio.
My work focuses solely on push photography towards the field of ontology, without ever losing sight of technique and time.
Along this path, I move between portraiture, concert photography, and documentary photography, frequently working with music and arts production companies, media organisations, agencies, and non-profit organisations.
